UPDATE ON THE MOUNT ST. MARY HOSPITAL VISITING PROGRAM

Dear Residents, Families & Friends:

You are aware of the changes to the Office of the Provincial Health Officer COVID-19 directives announced Thursday March 10th. Coming into effect on Friday, March 18th are changes to the current Visiting Parameters of Mount St. Mary Hospital.

At Mount St. Mary we are pleased to largely return to our Visiting Program process that was in effect pre-January 7th.

  1. All visitors are welcome back on-site.
  2. We anticipate receiving 85 visitors each day.
  3. Visiting hours remain 9 am to 8 pm daily.
  4. All visitors will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms when entering the building, will show proof (QR Code) of being fully vaccinated (if not having their vaccination status previously recorded), and will have a COVID-19 rapid test.
  5. Visitors may participate in outdoor activities with residents, but may not participate in indoor activities.
  6. Visitors must wear a MSMH mask properly at all times when visiting, and must follow our infection prevention practices including excellent hand hygiene.
  7. Visitors may not go into the House Kitchens.
  8. Residents must not have any food stuffs, including candies and biscuits, in their rooms.
  9. Residents may continue to go on outings.
  10. Peak Visiting Times are 10:30 am to 12:30 pm & 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
  11. Please anticipate a perhaps longer wait to be cleared to enter the building if you visit during the peak visiting times, and of possible, perhaps plan to visit outside of the peak times.
  12. Please remain patient as you will have to wait your turn to have your rapid test completed. Our Greeter Team will work within the established safety parameters in conducting rapid tests for visitors.

With thanks for your adherence to our Visiting Protocols. We look forward to welcoming all of you back this week.

Kind regards,

Sara
