The Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, announced on Thursday, April 6, 2023 today that
visiting restrictions in long-term care, imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, are lifted today. As such, visitors do not need to:
- be screened to visit their loved one
- be vaccinated against COVID-19
- have a negative rapid antigen test within the 48 hours of visiting.
Visitors do not have to wear a mask unless they are visiting a resident who is on droplet precautions or visiting
in a House that is closed due to 3 or more residents being on droplet precautions. This is the same infection and prevention control
measures in place for any communicable disease including influenza and gastrointestinal infections.
Visitors should not visit when unwell or have influenza- or cold-like symptoms. All visitors should continue practicing excellent hand hygiene.
