Mount St. Mary Hospital is saddened to hear of the passing of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025. While we are saddened, we celebrate the progressive force he was within the Church, as well as, a champion for the disenfranchised. We are thankful for his coming to Canada in 2022 to make the landmark apology for the Catholic Church’s role in the Canadian residential school system.
Mount St. Mary lives our values as guided by our founders, the Sisters of St. Ann. We are a Catholic health care facility and are committed to advancing the added value of Catholic health to the Canadian health care system. The demonstration of Pope Francis’ connection to vulnerable and marginalized people was inspirational to us as we continue to advance our values of caring and compassion.
