Welcome to the Mount St. Mary well wishes page. This form allows you to send a message to a loved one currently in our care. Emails are checked every weekday and hand-delivered by staff to residents/clients in the afternoon. Messages received after 1 p.m., on weekends, or statutory holidays will be delivered the next business day. Please note that this tool is only for well wishes. Any other type of communication or messages (such as emails conducting personal business, containing questionable content, or solicitations) will not be delivered and will be deleted from the system.

    Mount St. Mary Hospital Welcomes New CEO, Melanie Hennig

    Following a thorough and comprehensive recruitment process, the Mount St. Mary Hospital Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Melanie Hennig will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer, Mount St. Mary Hospital on July 2, 2025.

    Melanie has held progressive leadership roles in resident care environments for the past 24 years in British Columbia. She joins Mount St. Mary from the position of Vice President, Care and Community Programs at Broadmead Care, where she has provided strategic and operational leadership for five communities, including over 400 residents and 15,000 adult day program visits annually, supported by a workforce of 650 employees.

    Melanie holds a Diploma of Arts (Okanagan University College, 1992), a Bachelor of Arts (University of Victoria, 1994) and a Master of Arts (University of Victoria, 1999). Throughout her career Melanie has specialized in health and gerontology.

    I know you will join me in welcoming Melanie to Mount St. Mary, under whose leadership we will continue to provide exemplary care and services while living our Values.

    Effective June 28th, Sara John Fowler retires from her position as Chief Executive Officer at Mount St. Mary following 16 years of dedicated service to the organization, to those we serve, and to our people ~ staff and volunteers. Sara has led the organization through times of change, and with the Mount St. Mary Team has advanced our programs and services. Her experience and leadership has been invaluable. We wish Sara the very best in her retirement and new adventures.
